Remove all Flock camera systems immediately and wipe every bit of data they have collected without proper legal authorization. These surveillance networks operate as a dragnet, capturing the movements of ordinary people who have done nothing wrong and consented to nothing. That is not public safety. That is mass surveillance.
Flock cameras don't just photograph license plates. They build location histories on entire communities, and that data sits in private corporate hands with little oversight and no meaningful limit on how long it is kept or who can access it. Law enforcement agencies have used this network to track people at prayer vigils and peaceful protests. That is a direct threat to First Amendment rights.
Pass strict privacy legislation that bans warrantless automated license plate reader networks, mandates immediate deletion of any data already collected, and creates real criminal penalties for violations. Surveillance infrastructure built in secret and operated without public consent has no place in a free society.
