Dear "Let's shift the tax burden from the top to the bottom" Miscreants,
I am writing you concerning your efforts to shift the burden of funding of Missouri's government to Expanded Sales Taxation and the negative consequences vis-à-vis the incidence of abortion.
It may be news to you, the population most at risk and having abortion are the lower class poverty level uninsured. These people do not pay income taxes, that you feverishly want to repeal; but pay Sales Taxes. Your plans to expand Sales Taxes by expanding what is subject to Sales Taxation, including labor on auto repair and maintenance and other services will make living in Missouri more expensive. Who loses the most? Children. Especially the unborn children whose parents already under extreme pressure of how to pay for them.
Has the United States Congress appears poised too dramatically cut Medicaid, that like it or not, pays for 40% of the births in this Nation. Making that population uninsured will only put more pressure on them to choose abortion while you increase their cost of living in Missouri.
Again, I make note of the image of the Blessed Mother on the governor's desk. The Holy family was not wealthy. They paid taxes to Rome. The modern Republican Party would raise their taxes and give the Pharisees a tax cut.
I do not expect that you care anything about what I am saying. It is my responsibility as a bond service of Jesus Christ to speak the truth.
