Stop the Trump administration from removing protected status from Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans here through CHNV parole. Giving these vulnerable people such short notice to relocate is going to cause unnecessary suffering and turmoil. In addition, many of these migrants have become part of our community. The US has a long history of isolationist and nationalist tendencies. This is not abnormal but it is in contrast with what America should stand for. Compassion and acceptance of others has always prevailed in our country, so these hard-line immigration policies will not radically remake our country. All it will do is further erode our standing in the world, while radicalizing those in regions we need to partner with influence.
