Protect America’s Most Sacred Right — The Right to Vote
To: Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley
From: A verified voter in Des Moines, IA
February 26
The right to vote is the cornerstone of American democracy — and right now, it is under direct threat.
I am urging you to vote NO on the SAVE Act. This bill does not protect elections. It suppresses them. Existing law already requires voters to affirm their citizenship under penalty of perjury, and study after study confirms that non-citizen voting is virtually nonexistent. This bill solves a manufactured problem while creating a very real one — stripping more than 21 million eligible American citizens of their ability to register and vote. Those most impacted are seniors, young voters, married women who have changed their names, and communities of color.
This is not voter protection. This is voter suppression dressed up in patriotic language.
Senator, your constituents are watching. We remember who stood with us and who didn’t. I am asking you to stand on the right side of history — vote NO on the SAVE Act and defend every American’s sacred right to vote.
