Kilmer Abrego Garcia Subject: Immediate Return of Kilmer Abrego Garcia to the United States Dear Members of Congress, I am writing as a deeply concerned citizen regarding the ongoing and unlawful detention of Kilmer Abrego Garcia, a legal permanent resident of the United States, who was forcibly removed from U.S. soil and is currently being held in a prison in El Salvador. Mr. Abrego Garcia's removal constitutes a gross violation of both U.S. and international law. Despite a clear and unequivocal ruling from the United States Supreme Court ordering his return, the executive branch has failed to act in accordance with that mandate. This defiance undermines the very foundation of our constitutional system—specifically, the principle of checks and balances and the rule of law. The circumstances surrounding Mr. Abrego Garcia’s abduction and detention are not only alarming, they are a direct threat to the rights of all legal residents and citizens. If the government can ignore the highest court in the land with impunity, we are all at risk. I urge you, as representatives of the American people and stewards of justice, to take immediate action to ensure Mr. Abrego Garcia’s return to the United States. This includes holding the responsible agencies accountable and enforcing compliance with the Supreme Court’s order. The integrity of our democracy depends on it.
