Investigate alleged data misuse and overreach by DOGE

To: Sen. Cortez Masto, Sen. Rosen, Rep. Horsford

From: A constituent in North Las Vegas, NV

April 15

It is deeply concerning that DOGE appears to be improperly accessing and potentially misusing sensitive government data, including personal information about American citizens and workers. Their reported activities of exfiltrating data, disabling security controls, and obfuscating their actions raise serious red flags about potential corruption, abuse of power, and violation of privacy rights. I urge you to fully investigate these allegations from the whistleblower and take immediate action to protect the confidentiality and integrity of government systems and data. DOGE must be held accountable if they have indeed overstepped legal and ethical boundaries in pursuit of their cost-cutting agenda. The public deserves transparency and assurance that their personal data is being safeguarded against misuse or exploitation. Unchecked, DOGE's actions could enable surveillance, retaliation against whistleblowers, and anti-competitive business practices - undermining core democratic principles and worker protections. I implore you to uphold your duty to provide rigorous oversight and curtail any improper data practices that violate the public's trust. This issue demands a thorough, independent inquiry and decisive measures to rein in government overreach and protect civil liberties.
