An Open Letter

To: Sen. Curtis, Rep. Moore, Sen. Lee

From: A constituent in Logan, UT

April 17

Juan Jose Ramos was taken from a car in Taylorsville and sent to El Salvador. He was here with his relatives legally and had applied for asylum on the CPB app in January. His family didn't know where he was until Sunday, when they saw him in a video of the prisoners in El Salvador. This is NOT how the United States should behave. Our founding documents say that ALL men are endowed with certain rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He was denied due process and unlawfully deprived of his liberty. You don't have to bring him back to Utah, but it is not okay for him to be left in prison in El Salvador when he has done nothing wrong!
