JD Vance (or whatever he calls himself these days) famously wrote a book about his journey from “poverty” to success. He called it Hillbilly Elegy. Now that he’s in the White House, he seems to forget that people like his grandma still exist. He and Trump and the entire administration have cut benefits from Medicaid to SNAP sending already struggling families on a downward spiral to unprecedented poverty. They claim the United States has budgetary concerns and we have to trim the fat. They say we cannot afford to support our own citizens. Why is it then that we can afford massive detention centers? A war effort no one asked for and no one wants? Universal healthcare for Israel? Expansion missions in South America? A new ballroom for the people’s house? Why can’t these funds be allocated to American causes? And now the pentagon is asking for $200B more? And let’s face it- they’ll get it. Because Trump’s egregious greed for power and money and vengeance is always more important than some West Virginia town having access to medical care or Michigan having clean water, right? This is unhinged. This is un-American. This is war on the American people led by the leader of the American people. Stop the war. Stop all the wars. Now. Impeach Trump.
