Dear Senator, I'm writing you today to urge you not to confirm ANY of the new administration's appointees without prior FBI background checks. These checks have been routinely done for decades and are vitally important from a national security perspective. The FBI has broad access to information that even the best private firms do not. Do not allow partisan politics to diminish the level of integrity that must be required of our government officials. You have gone through this thorough process yourself, as have your own staffers and thousands of political appointees throughout government. Bowing to political pressure puts our country at risk.
