Stop supporting unconstitutional deportation and imprisonment

To: Rep. Moore

From: A constituent in Morgantown, WV

April 17

I am a constituent of yours in Morgantown, WV. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in your recent actions and statements regarding your visit to CECOT. I am ashamed to have a representative who is not defending and upholding the Constitution that you swore to protect - regardless of party lines. As you know, all individuals present in the U.S. have a right to due process under the 5th and 14th amendments and I am shocked to see you supporting the executive branch’s actions to deport and incarcerate individuals without providing that constitutional right. Regardless of the majority in our state who voted for you, or the platforms you were elected for, you still have a duty to defend the Constitution of the United States. West Virginians and Americans expect and deserve better. I appreciated much of your work as our state’s Treasurer; however unless you will uphold your oath of office I cannot support your future election and in fact believe you have no place in Congress. I request that you respond to this letter to tell me why you believe the President and executive branch’s actions are defensible in light of our Constitutional rights.
