The PRESS Act aims to protect journalists from being compelled to disclose confidential information or reveal sources, except in limited circumstances involving imminent violence or acts of terrorism. It establishes safeguards for both journalists and service providers storing their data. This legislation upholds press freedoms vital to our democracy by allowing reporters to gather and disseminate information in the public interest without undue government interference or intimidation. Given the importance of an independent media, the PRESS Act deserves your support to promote transparency and government accountability.
