Restore CDC Guidance for Sexual, Reproductive, and LGTBQ+ Health

To: Rep. Simpson, Sen. Crapo, Sen. Risch

From: A constituent in Boise, ID

February 5

The guidelines removed appear to target some of the most marginalized communities and demonstrates a complete lack of concern for the most vulnerable among us. How does that make America healthy again? The unprecedented rollback of CDC guidelines jeopardizes the health and safety of millions of Americans, not only those living with chronic conditions but also every individual who relies on our collective defenses to prevent disease outbreaks. When vital information disappears, so does our health and public health systems’ ability to respond effectively to emerging public health threats, protect vulnerable populations, and contain health crises. CDC resources are essential tools for general practitioners, specialists, and public health officials, guiding the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to millions of Americans. The removal of guidelines and data immediately undermines health providers’ ability to care for patients, provide evidence-based care, and protect communities’ health.
