Republicans, stop withholding FEMA funding from blue states!

FEMA slashed wildfire prevention grants to Democratic-led states from $91 million a month down to $3 million after last summer. California has received just $830,000 since July. Colorado has received nothing. Zero. Fire season is starting now. Communities with grants already approved are still waiting on the money. Tribal land in Northern California sits primed to burn. Schools damaged in last year's fires can't rebuild classrooms. Roads keep washing out. Fire-prevention projects that protect actual homes from actual flames are frozen in place. Former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem made herself the personal bottleneck, demanding she sign off on every grant over $100,000. The administration has killed BRIC, the country's main pre-disaster resilience program, calling climate prep "inefficient." A federal judge ordered it reinstated yet the money still isn't moving. Republican states get their checks. Blue states get told to wait while the smoke rolls in. How is this acceptable?! Have Republicans thought about what will happen if Democrats take office and decide to do this to Red states? Aside from that, the President of the United States is supposed to work for all of the American people, not just the ones who vote for him and not just the States that vote for his party. The money used for FEMA and other federal support systems comes from all tax payers, yet the Republican party is stealing that money away and using it as a weapon to punish those who vote against them. It's shameful and likely illegal.
