Demand Investigation and Accountability for Withheld Epstein Files

To: Sen. Kaine, Rep. Subramanyam, Sen. Warner

From: A constituent in Lovettsville, VA

March 1

I am writing to demand immediate action regarding the Justice Department's illegal withholding of documents from the public Epstein files database. An NPR investigation has revealed that the DOJ removed more than 50 pages of FBI interviews and notes from a woman who accused President Trump of sexual abuse when she was a minor, despite the Epstein Files Transparency Act mandating their release. According to the released files, this woman told the FBI that around 1983, when she was approximately 13 years old, Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to Trump, who subsequently forced her head down to his exposed penis, which she bit. In response, Trump punched her in the head and kicked her out. The FBI interviewed this accuser four times between 2019 and 2021, but only the first interview appears in the public database, and that interview does not mention Trump. Of 15 documents listed in Maxwell case discovery material for this accuser, only seven are in the Epstein files database. A second woman's FBI interview was also removed after initial publication on January 30. She described how Epstein took her to Mar-a-Lago to meet Trump when she was around 13 years old and being abused by Epstein. According to the interview report, Epstein told Trump, "This is a good one, huh," and both men chuckled. House Oversight Committee ranking member Rep. Robert Garcia has confirmed that the DOJ appears to have illegally withheld these FBI interviews. In a February 14 letter to Congress, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche claimed no records were withheld based on political sensitivity, but the evidence contradicts this assertion. No person accused of sexually abusing minors should hold the office of President. I urge you to support a full congressional investigation into these withheld documents, demand the immediate release of all legally required files, and pursue accountability measures including impeachment proceedings. The American people deserve transparency and justice for survivors.
