I am writing to urge you to vote NO on market structure legislation because it puts American families' financial security at risk while giving crypto special interests carve-outs at the expense of everyday Americans. Working families are already facing an affordability crisis. The last thing they need is Congress creating loopholes in crypto regulation that jeopardize their retirement savings and college funds. This legislation exempts decentralized exchanges from time-tested safeguards that have protected established markets and investors for decades. Without these safeguards, we risk creating a shadow market where fraudsters and criminals operate unchecked – leaving hardworking Americans, middle class families, and retirees invested in markets vulnerable to manipulation, scams, and fraud with no recourse to recover their losses. If Congress allows crypto special interests to bypass investor safeguards, ordinary Americans will bear the risk while the wealthy profit. Young professionals saving for homes, families planning for college, and workers building retirement nest eggs cannot afford to have their financial security threatened by loopholes and exemptions. Digital innovation should benefit all Americans, not just a select few with insider connections. The fairness and integrity of our markets must come first. Congress can support financial innovation while protecting investors. But this legislation fails to do both. I urge you to reject any crypto bill that sacrifices ordinary Americans' financial security for special interests. Vote NO on market structure legislation that fails to protect American investors.
