Support the Hemp Safety Enforcement Act (S. 4315)

Support the Hemp Safety Enforcement Act (S. 4315)
I urge you to support and, if you have not already, cosponsor the bipartisan Hemp Safety Enforcement Act (S. 4315).
This legislation offers a practical, balanced approach by preserving states’ authority to regulate hemp while establishing meaningful consumer protections. Rather than replacing effective state programs with a broad federal prohibition, the bill allows states to continue enforcing responsible regulations that protect public health and support lawful commerce. The Hemp Safety Enforcement Act requires participating states to maintain safeguards such as minimum age requirements for hemp-derived cannabinoid products and continued restrictions on synthetic cannabinoids that do not naturally occur in the hemp plant. It also protects interstate commerce for products that comply with state law, giving farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers greater regulatory certainty. A science-based regulatory framework is a better solution than an outright ban. Responsible businesses should be rewarded for complying with testing, labeling, and safety standards, while unsafe products and bad actors should face strong enforcement. This approach protects consumers, supports American agriculture and small businesses, and respects the work many states have already done to develop effective hemp regulations.
Please support the Hemp Safety Enforcement Act and work toward federal policies that prioritize consumer safety, state flexibility, and responsible regulation.
