Congress must block any financial assistance to the UAE and end Trump's illegal war with Iran. The War Powers Act required congressional authorization within 60 days of military action. That deadline has long passed. What Trump is doing now is completely illegal. The conflicts of interest are staggering. Jared Kushner received $200 million from the UAE's sovereign wealth fund in 2023 and another $1.5 billion in 2024. The UAE invested $2 billion into a cryptocurrency venture run by Trump's sons the same year Trump lifted export restrictions on computer chips. Now Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is discussing currency swaps and other relief for the UAE while telling other affected countries they're on their own. Trump cannot be trusted to make impartial decisions about bailouts when his family has pocketed billions from the country seeking help. This decision cannot be left to someone so personally connected to the UAE. Congress has the power of the purse and the sole authority to declare war. Use both. Block any UAE assistance package and pass a resolution demanding immediate withdrawal of forces and lifting of the naval blockade.
