No taxation without representation? NJ 7 begs to differ.

To: Sen. Kim, Rep. Kean, Sen. Booker

From: A verified voter in Budd Lake, NJ

June 18

Good afternoon. When I am ill, and I have to call off work, I do so at my own expense. Though I do receive a certain amount of sick pay at the end of the year, I cannot utilize it when I actually need it, ie, when I am actually sick. I live in a country that does not supply its citizens with free or affordable healthcare. That comes out of my pocket, as do my living expenses during my period of illness. If I am absent from my office for too lengthy an amount of time, a replacement must be hired to cover my hours. Tom Kean, Jr., has been MIA for three months. We, his employers, want a replacement. That has not been provided. When I contact his office directly, his interns inform me that we don’t need a replacement. When I questioned him on “no taxation without representation,” he claimed that the congressman *is* in fact representing me… despite not having been available to colleagues or constituents for three months, and despite not casting a single vote on our behalf in DC for that same amount of time. If I left my office for three months without notice to my employers, I’d be terminated. Tom Kean is our employee- he is being PAID for an absence without leave- he is being provided healthcare for same- and he is allowing our tax dollars to continue being collected with absolutely NO representation. Fire. Him. Today.
