The guardrails aren’t enough, Do not fund DHS.

To: Sen. Klobuchar, Rep. Fischbach, Sen. Smith

From: A constituent in Marshall, MN

February 6

The Department of Homeland Security is, and always has been, redundant. The services provided by this department are duplicates of services that were already performed by other agencies. For example, the Federal Emergency Management Agency would function much better as a part of the Department of Health. Customs would be better served as part of the Department of the Interior, who already has Law enforcement as part of the National Park Service. Much of the border lands are already managed by other Department of Interior divisions such as Bureau of Land Management. These examples continue for the entire agency. There should be no urgency to fund DHS at all. Reform is impossible at this point and the agency should be dissolved. I urge you to vote against funding this Department entirely. Reform is impossible, let other Departments perform these duties with the guardrails that they deserve.
