November 3
The Senate is rushing to pass a bill that guts environmental protections and silences community voices for the overwhelming benefit of the fossil fuel industry and data center developers.
The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 is a back-door deal that represents a massive power grab by Big Tech and the fossil fuel industry. If it becomes law, this bill would gut key aspects of foundational environmental laws like the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and Endangered Species Act. In doing so, it would all but ensure data centers and fossil fuel projects will be approved regardless of community opposition. It would pollute families’ air and water with chemicals that increase their risk of asthma, cancer, and premature deaths, worsen the climate crisis, and put threatened species at risk of vanishing forever.
This dirty deal was negotiated behind closed doors, and the Senate intends to bypass processes that help the public understand its impacts. They’re racing to pass this deal in November, and could vote on it as early as November 9. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS SLIP THROUGH THE SENATE!!
