First, I would like to congratulate Senator Warner and Representative Subramanyam on their victories in yesterdays historic elections. I wanted to reach out this morning and echo a message I am sure you are hearing from everywhere else. You’ve been handed a mandate to check the power of the petty despot in the White House. I understand that the work of Congress must be done but if you want the support of the people who moved this election, you’re going to have to start holding the President and his cadre of slavering ghouls accountable for the cruelty and corruption. I’m sure you’ve seen the clips of Trump, Mike Johnson and Steve Bannon talking about what a Democrat congress would do. I beg of you, do it. I am not interested in hearing a single Democrat say that they are looking forward to working with the members of the other party. Republicans gave this nation over to unprecedented cruelty and corruption; they deserve no comfort or clemency. I don’t want to see Senator Schumer or Representative Jefferies lead their respective chambers but with the political machinery being what it is, I can’t imagine another result. I beg you to impress on them that if they return to power with a message of cooperation and returning to business as usual it will prove to the Democrat's detractors that they were right. That Democrats have no spine, no will to fight and no desire to reform the system. After a long, dark night, America can finally see dawn coming. Don’t waste the day.
