Mehmet Oz has repeatedly disregarded scientific evidence and promoted pseudoscientific medical claims for personal gain. His track record of disseminating dangerous misinformation about treatments like hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 and promoting fraudulent "wellness" products is deeply concerning. As the potential administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which provides health coverage to over 160 million Americans including 37.6 million children, Oz would be in a powerful position to influence health policy and practices. CMS programs must be led by someone with expertise in evidence-based medicine and a commitment to promoting scientifically-backed strategies, not by an unqualified television personality motivated by profits over public health. I urge you to oppose Oz's nomination and ensure responsible leadership is appointed to safeguard the wellbeing of our nation's most vulnerable populations.
