I just read that the Department of Health and Human Services is canceling a nearly $600 million contract with Moderna to develop vaccines for flu subtypes that could trigger future pandemics, including the bird flu. Why on earth would we do this? Vaccines SAVE LIVES. Vaccines prevent so much illiness: we need continuous development of vaccines. It’s bad enough that the HHS is attacking the COVID vaccine, but now it’s going after ALL flu vaccines? Including bird flu? These anti-science moves are dangerous and stupid and will cause unnecessary deaths across the nation. It is so destructive to undermine public health in this way. I ask the Congressman to do all in his power to get HHS to stop attacking Covid vaccines and also to reinstate the funding for Moderna’s flu vaccines! We need them. Thank you.
