As of today, the evening of October 1st into October 2nd, Israel has wrongfully and illegally detained 22 US citizens in international waters. Our citizens were apart of a coalition of international citizens seeking to provided much needed humanitarian aid, such as baby formula and water filters, to the starving citizens of Gaza. With full understanding of international law and the mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla, Israeli forces broke the law and began intercepting ships and detaining passengers. This is absolutely unacceptable. Israel should not be allowed to detain anyone in international waters, but they certainly shouldn’t be detaining those who wish to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza. Protect our citizens. End this siege. End this genocide.
