I urge you not to confirm Kash Patel
To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham

December 11
I urge against confirming Kash Patel as the next FBI director. Patel is a fierce critic of the Justice Department and a longtime ally of President-elect Trump. As a former national security aide, he lacks the necessary law enforcement experience to lead the FBI effectively. The role demands an impartial leader committed to upholding the rule of law, not someone beholden to partisan interests. Patel's controversial background and close ties to Trump cast doubt on his ability to helm the FBI with independence and integrity. The FBI needs a director who can restore public trust in the bureau after years of political turmoil. Confirming Patel would only further erode confidence in an institution central to our democracy. I respectfully ask that you consider a more qualified, non-partisan candidate to ensure the FBI's autonomy.
