It’s sand, but not a beach. Tell Trump that destroying Iran destroys us all.

I am writing today in fear for the world at large. The President’s public threat to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants is not strategy—it is reckless escalation delivered via social media. Donald Trump is openly signaling attacks on civilian energy infrastructure, a move that risks crossing clear humanitarian red lines and dragging the United States deeper into an unwinnable regional catastrophe. Iran has already made its response plain: if its grid is targeted, it will strike regional infrastructure—including desalination plants that supply drinking water to millions across the Gulf. These facilities are not optional utilities; they are the lifeline of entire nations. Disabling them would mean immediate water shortages, mass displacement, public health collapse, and cascading instability in some of the most water-scarce regions on Earth. This is how regional conflict becomes global crisis—through the deliberate targeting of systems civilians cannot survive without. Congress cannot continue to sit idle while threats of collective punishment and infrastructure warfare are normalized. You have both the authority and the obligation to intervene, to reassert congressional war powers, and to halt a trajectory that endangers millions of lives and destabilizes global energy and water security. Act now—or accept responsibility for what follows.
