I am writing to express my strong support of the recent letter sent by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden and House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin urging the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate potential FARA violations by Jared Kushner. I join their call for immediate action based on the concerning evidence they've presented: 1. Mr. Kushner has received at least $80 million from Saudi Arabia and other foreign governments since June 2021 while simultaneously advising former President Trump's campaign 2. The Saudi Public Investment Fund invested $2 billion in Kushner's firm despite their own investment committee's documented objections about his lack of relevant experience 3. While receiving these foreign payments, Kushner has: - Advised the Saudi Crown Prince on U.S. foreign policy - Maintained an active role in Trump's presidential campaign - Arranged meetings with foreign officials on U.S. soil - Influenced members of Congress on domestic and foreign policy 4. These activities appear to clearly require FARA registration and disclosure of foreign payments I strongly urge you to join Chairman Wyden and Ranking Member Raskin's effort and support the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate these serious national security concerns. The American people deserve transparency about foreign influence in our political system.
