Investigate alleged Musk-FAA corruption, uphold ethics laws

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Rep. Hoyer, Sen. Van Hollen

From: A constituent in North Beach, MD

March 18

The public deserves transparency and accountability from our government. I am concerned about the reports of potential criminal corruption involving Elon Musk's activities at the Federal Aviation Administration. The allegations of Musk exploiting his government position to financially benefit his private companies like Starlink raise serious conflict of interest issues. If true, this would constitute a violation of criminal conflict-of-interest laws. It is imperative that a thorough and impartial investigation be conducted to examine the scope of Musk's involvement at the FAA and any preferential treatment towards his companies. The public trust is eroded when there are credible accusations of officials abusing their power for personal gain. We cannot allow powerful individuals to manipulate government agencies for their own enrichment at the expense of the national interest. I urge you to direct the Department of Transportation's Office of Inspector General and the Department of Justice to immediately open an investigation into this matter. Rooting out corruption must be a top priority to maintain faith in our democratic institutions. Those who violate ethics laws and abuse the public trust must be held accountable, regardless of their wealth or influence. The American people deserve a government that works for the common good, not the financial interests of a few.
