I am writing to you as a constituent with a clear and unequivocal demand: under no circumstances are you to vote in favor of any budget, continuing resolution, or supplemental appropriation that provides funding to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE must be fully dismantled. This is not a request. It is a mandate from the people you were elected to represent. Across the country, Americans are protesting, organizing, and speaking out against unchecked federal enforcement agencies that operate with impunity, disregard due process, and inflict harm on communities while remaining shielded from meaningful accountability. ICE has become a symbol and instrument of this lawless overreach. Continued funding of ICE directly contradicts the will of the public. The message from the people is clear: we do not consent to the use of our tax dollars to sustain an agency that routinely violates civil liberties, erodes constitutional protections, and destabilizes communities under the guise of enforcement. You were not elected to protect federal agencies. You were elected to represent the people. A vote to fund ICE is a vote against public accountability, against democratic consent, and against the growing demand for a humane, lawful, and transparent immigration system. It is a rejection of the voices filling streets, calling offices, and documenting abuses nationwide. Therefore, I expect you to: • Vote NO on any measure that funds ICE in any form. • Publicly support the complete dismantling of ICE. History will record how elected officials responded at this moment. Silence, deflection, or procedural excuses will be understood for what they are: a failure to represent the people. I expect your vote to reflect the will of your constituents. Anything less is a breach of the duty entrusted to you.
