So many issues with our democracy have been made clear in this election. I urge you & your staff to seriously consider three ideas for possible bills in Congress - yes, even a republican-led Congress - 1. Campaign finance reform (generally) - it is unconscionable that our elected representatives have to be beholden to billionaires in order to run a campaign. 2. A new Finance measure specific to the Presidential campaign. Recognizing that $ = votes, and bearing in mind that even corporations are allowed to "speak" (spend) as much as they want in a presidential campaign, consider a new bill to require that Presidential candidates must raise money from EVERY state, and from a certain percentage of the population in each state. 3. Shorten the campaign cycle. We are all sick and tired of being sick and tired of divisive campaign ads. If the Presidential primary season were shortened, we would no longer need to have 2+ years of campaigning. Donde
