I am writing to urge you to do all you can to block the proposed ICE detention facility in Utah. As a state founded by migrants, we have a long history of being and sheltering the outcast. Our state history is diametrically opposed to the current administration's play to degrade, humiliate, and terrorize migrants. There is a better, higher way to uphold the laws while still allowing humans their basic rights. Please do all in your power to keep an ICE facility of deprivation and despair out of our borders. I am depending on you to do the right thing, regardless of your politics. This is about human lives.
