I am writing to urge you to block any land swap, easement, or transfer that hands Yosemite National Park land to a private developer. The National Park Service is reportedly working under Interior Department pressure to arrange exactly that — trading away park land so a developer can build a private road to an 83-acre property near one of Yosemite's ancient sequoia groves. Federal courts rejected this same road twice. It should not get a third chance through an administrative back door. This deal could move forward without a congressional vote, which means your intervention matters now. Yosemite is where the national park idea was born. The Merced and Tuolumne rivers rise inside this park and flow downstream to 3 million people who drink from them and 480,000 acres of Central Valley farmland. Trading that away for private profit isn't a land exchange — it's a betrayal of a 150-year promise. Yosemite is not for sale.
