Hello, I’m writing to express my strong opposition to the nomination of Linda McMahon for Secretary of Education. She’s spent her limited career pushing policies that harm public education, and she is not qualified to lead the Department of Education. On top of that, I strongly oppose any efforts to eliminate the Department of Education, like H.R. 899. The Department plays a critical role in protecting students' rights, including students with disabilities, and ensuring access to a fair and equitable education for all.  Honestly, it’s hard to trust senator Graham with his stance on issues like prayer in schools - when my family wanted catholicism in my life they sent me to classes at our church because they, too, recognized the separation of church and state - and the attack on policies that honor students' preferred pronouns. These are distractions from the real issues our schools face, like gun violence, which has tragically taken more lives than the number of trans students in the school system. Has he spoken to parents of trans children? Or just any parents who are worried about their children’s safety in school? I’m a parent, and the last thing I’m concerned about is a trans kid — I’m worried about school shootings. I want to see him think critically and represent me by rejecting McMahon’s nomination and opposing efforts to dismantle the Department of Education. Thank you for your time
