I am writing as a concerned constituent to respectfully urge you to support Representative Robin Kelly’s articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The recent shootings involving ICE and Customs and Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis and Chicago have raised serious questions about Secretary Noem’s leadership and accountability. As reported by CBS News, the actions of federal agents under her direction have led to tragic consequences, including the deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Silvero Villegas-Gonzalez. These events have exposed systemic misconduct, violations of due process, and an alarming disregard for constitutional protections. Representative Kelly’s proposed articles of impeachment — for willful obstruction of congressional oversight, compromising the due process rights of U.S. citizens, and abusing authority for personal and political benefit — reflect a necessary and justified response to this pattern of recklessness and abuse of power. Secretary Noem’s conduct in office demonstrates a clear breach of public trust that Congress has a duty to confront. I ask that you join Representative Kelly and support the introduction and passage of these articles. This is not a partisan issue, but one of accountability, justice, and the protection of democratic principles. The American people deserve a Department of Homeland Security that acts lawfully, responsibly, and with respect for human rights. Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your commitment to upholding the Constitution. I urge you to act decisively to ensure that those who misuse the powers of their office are held fully accountable.
