The threats that the White House is making to invade or annex or otherwise attack the sovereignty of Greenland are upending the security not only of Europe but also of the United States. Any such action would clearly constitute a violation of the U.S. Constitution, of United States treaty obligations and of international law. In addition, the ongoing threats suggest the president is dangerously unbalanced. It is time for you and your colleagues to vote to withhold funds for any military action targeting Greenland and to take any other measures you can to halt this lunacy. In addition, I call on you individually to join Rep. Ted Lieu in publicly stating that any order from the president directing the United States Armed Forces to take action against Greenland without advance Congressional authorization is clearly illegal and must be disobeyed.
