The sovereign wealth fund proposal raises concerns over government overreach and misplaced priorities. As elected leaders, a core responsibility is to prioritize the welfare of citizens over corporate interests. Acquiring a private company like TikTok does little to directly benefit the American people or address pressing domestic issues. It would be a questionable use of public funds that could be better directed towards initiatives that meaningfully improve lives, such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, or economic development programs. I urge you to reconsider this approach and instead focus government efforts on policies and investments that create tangible value for your constituents and uphold democratic principles.
