I urge you to block passage of the SAVE Act by voting against the NDAA, the National Defense Authorization Act.  This vote could happen as soon as today, if not this week.   Under the House Rule for the NDAA floor vote, the SAVE Act will be added to the NDAA following House passage of the NDAA.    The SAVE Act is an anti-voter bill that would make it nearly impossible for Americans to register to vote by mail and would end voter registration drives nationwide. The SAVE Act is a direct attack on free and fair elections in the United States that would make it much more difficult for millions of eligible voters to participate in our elections.    Trump’s NDAA would increase funding for the Pentagon by $250 billion, part of Trump’s disastrous goal of increasing the Pentagon budget to $1.5 trillion. Trump has already cut over a trillion dollars from funds for health care and food assistance.  He is also cutting funding for education and climate action.  Trump is using this money to increase funding for endless and illegal wars that have tragically killed U.S. servicemembers and thousands of civilians.   Please block the SAVE Act by voting against the NDAA.  Protect our democracy, protect our social safety net, and stop Trump from increasing funding for the Pentagon, wasteful contractors, and endless war.
