Do not vote to add the budget without guardrails to stop the unconstitutional cutting of departments like USAID and the severe cuts to other departments like NASA, NWS, NPS, EPA, SSA and more. If there is nothing stopping the hostile takeover by Musk and Vought trying to gut departments they don’t like our country will be a shadow of what it once was. It is heartbreaking that our forests are going to be sold off to the highest bidder and they want to stop following environmental protections that protect endangered species and ecosystems. We deserve to live in a country with clean air and water. Our parks generate more money than they cost. “Only when the last tree has died, the last river poisoned and the last fish caught will we realize we can’t eat money. It is disturbing that they are going to try to privatize vast portions of the government like the USPS to profit themselves. It is sickening that Elon is awarding him selves contracts illegally like at the FAA where the Verizon contract was vetted for safety and Starlink would pose risk. They are getting away with it because they fired everyone that looked out for fraud. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. This is an aggressive power grab that will leave so many to suffer for n a kleptocracy where only a few profit off the government. What happened to our democracy that endured for almost 250 years? We already had a much weaker safety net compared to the rest of the industrialized world. The cuts are only a small portion of the budget for big rewards and they are targeted on billionaire whims. We all will have descendants that will inherit this earth. Do not be responsible for the destruction that is coming. It only takes one to break rank for more to realize they are not beholden to Trump and Musk. I will go without pay on a tight budget but the alternative of allowing our country to be taken over with no guardrails is even uglier. Don’t vote yes on the budget without guardrails in place to stop what is happening.
