I strongly oppose Hakeem Jeffries becoming Speaker of the House, and I urge you to oppose him in both the Democratic caucus nomination and the House floor vote. Jeffries is not the fighter this moment demands. His acceptance of financial support from AIPAC PAC and corporate PACs undermines my confidence that he will challenge powerful interests without fear or favoritism. I want leadership willing to confront the influence of organized money and apply consistent standards of human rights and accountability, including to Israel. His private meeting with Jared Kushner further weakened my confidence in his judgment. Seeking common ground with someone whose financial interests and proximity to presidential power warrant scrutiny sends the wrong message. Jeffries has promised accountability, but those assurances do not resolve my concerns about his willingness to pursue it when doing so becomes politically uncomfortable. We need a Speaker who will pursue rigorous public investigations, compel testimony and documents, enforce congressional subpoenas, and support impeachment when the evidence establishes impeachable conduct. Accountability must reach senior officials, presidential relatives, wealthy donors, and corporate beneficiaries wherever the evidence leads. We also need leadership that treats fighting corruption and lowering costs as complementary obligations. A government that serves powerful insiders cannot reliably serve working families. Neither responsibility should become an excuse to postpone the other. Your leadership vote is a consequential choice for which your constituents should hold you responsible. Party seniority and fundraising ability are insufficient qualifications for this moment. I want to be completely clear: if you support Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker, I will not vote for you in 2028. Please provide a direct written response explaining whether you will oppose him and support an alternative committed to independent, aggressive, evidence-based accountability.
