On January 24, 2026, federal agents fatally shot Alex Pretti on a Minneapolis street. He was a 37-year-old ICU nurse, U.S. citizen, and law-abiding gun owner with a permit to carry. He was helping people.
Video shows agents restraining him, striking him repeatedly, then shooting him while he was on the ground.
On January 7, ICE killed Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three and U.S. citizen with no criminal record. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension states it has been "blocked" from investigating either case.
Dr. King warned that "history will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."
I am urging you to break that silence.
The Constitution does not permit federal agents to kill American citizens, obstruct state investigations, or refuse to investigate or be accountable for their actions.
I am pleading with you to restore the rule of law. Democracy depends on accountability. Justice requires action. Our Constitution demands your courage.
