As a Marine, Please Condemn Trump’s Memorial Day Disrespect

As an Alaskan and an American, and as a Marine I’m urging you to speak out publicly against President Trump’s deeply offensive Memorial Day message.
On a day meant to solemnly honor those who gave their lives in service to this country, President Trump posted not a message of remembrance, but a partisan attack. He wrote, “HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, INCLUDING THE SCUM THAT SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY…”
This kind of rhetoric disgraces the meaning of Memorial Day and disrespects the memory of every fallen soldier. It also disrespects our currently serving military members, veterans, and Gold Star families who deserve far better from their commander in chief.
Senator, you have served our country with honor. You know what Memorial Day is meant to be. I am asking you to stand up for the dignity of that service by condemning this behavior clearly and publicly. Silence from leaders like you, especially those in uniform, only enables this ongoing degradation of our national values.
Please choose honor over party. Please show our troops, our veterans, and our grieving families that you will not let their sacrifice be mocked.
