Vote No on RFK Jr.

To: Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott

From: A verified voter in Pembroke Pines, FL

February 6, 2025

I’m writing to urge you to vote no on RFK Jr.’s nomination to lead the Department of Health & Human Services. It’s an insult that he’s even in position to be nominated—for hundreds of reasons, but I’ll only list five to respect your time. One. He’s an anti-vaxxer, after we lost millions of American lives to COVID because we failed to achieve herd immunity. Two. He wants to build so-called healing farms that really just sound like “work camps,” isolating both people who struggle with substance abuse and people with legally prescribed stimulants and antidepressants from their communities. Those people have jobs, families, and roles in their communities that require their physical presence, as well as access to technology and the internet! Three. He wants to pause infectious disease research? For years? We’re a world leader in infectious disease research! There are bird flu and tuberculosis outbreaks happening right now! Not only will we fall behind the rest of the world in scientific advancement, our citizens will die from preventable, treatable epidemics and pandemics while the government does nothing. What am I paying taxes for if not public health? Scientifically supported public health advocacy is the bare minimum I expect from the people running my country. Four. He wants to lift restrictions on raw milk—the stuff that has cow feces in it. I’m already worried about undisclosed ingredient contamination affecting my family members with food allergies, and this man advocates for letting cow poop into commercially available milk? Five. He changes his stance on abortion every time a different person asks. Almost like he cares more what about what people think of him or promise him than he does about actual laws. He’s unqualified and dangerous to the American people. He blatantly lies during confirmation hearings. He doesn’t trust science, which should be the foundational requirement for this job. He doesn’t seem to trust God either, if the inherent cruelty of his ideas are anything to judge by. Vote no because my faith in our elected officials has never been lower than it is now. Vote no unless you want your constituents dying in droves the way they did in 2020.
