Block the Federal Rule That Would Erase Trans People From Public Life
To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens
From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT
June 11
Stop throwing trans people away. The Trump administration's proposed "Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance" is a 400-page rule that would strip federal funding from any institution that acknowledges transgender people exist — hospitals, universities, homeless shelters, nonprofits, all of it. Block this rule. Oppose it publicly. Do not let it stand.
This isn't a narrow policy tweak. Forty-two federal agencies signed onto a framework that would force overcompliance before a single dollar moves, reviewed by political appointees screening for any acknowledgment of gender identity. We've already seen what that pressure does: RAINN scrubbed support for LGBTQ+ survivors, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was told to deadname trans kids in missing persons reports, and more than 40 hospitals have stopped providing gender-affirming care. The Human Rights Campaign called this fascism. They're right.
The public comment period closes July 13, 2026, and unlike an executive order, this rule would take years to undo. I need you to oppose this rule loudly and on the record — because targeting an entire community's existence with the federal funding lever is not governance. It is cruelty.
