Federal workforce protections upheld, voters impacted in Florida

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody, Rep. Haridopolos

From: A constituent in Titusville, FL

February 11

A federal judge extended a temporary restraining order banning the Trump administration's executive order aimed at shrinking the federal workforce through buyouts. The judge found serious issues with the order that require further review to determine if it violates federal workforce laws and regulations, as it could interfere with the federal government's operations. The restraining order preserves federal workers' rights and job protections during the legal challenge. There are 94,000 federal employees in Florida and 10,000 in Brevard County, Florida, who could be impacted by the order and have the ability to vote accordingly. Stand up for employee rights in the state.
