Reject nanny state restrictions on consenting adults' liberties

To: Gov. Stitt, Sen. Reinhardt, Rep. Lay

From: A constituent in Tulsa, OK

February 7, 2025

As law-abiding citizens, we cherish our constitutional rights and the principles of limited government intervention in the private lives of responsible adults. The proposed restrictions on certain adult content undermine personal liberty and the conservative values of individual freedom and moral self-governance. Imposing a nanny state mentality through such overreaching legislation is antithetical to the ideals of small government and personal responsibility. I implore you to uphold our First Amendment freedoms and reject any attempts to erode them under the guise of moral crusading. We must preserve the ability of consenting adults to make informed choices free from excessive state interference in matters of personal conduct. I urge you to reconsider this ill-conceived approach and instead champion conservative principles of limited government overreach into the private affairs of law-abiding citizens.
