Oppose the Rollback of PFAS Drinking Water Standards

To: Rep. Zinke, Sen. Daines, Sen. Sheehy

From: A constituent in Clinton, MT

June 29

Withdraw the proposed rollbacks in dockets EPA-HQ-OW-2025-0654 and EPA-HQ-OW-2025-1742. The 2024 federal PFAS drinking water standards were a landmark public health achievement — eliminating protections for four of the most toxic PFAS and delaying compliance for two more is a step backward that will poison millions of Americans. Roughly 200 million people already have PFAS-contaminated drinking water. These chemicals cause cancer, infertility, and developmental damage in children — and they persist in the human body for decades. The EPA's job is to protect public health, not dismantle the first federal safeguards we've ever had against forever chemicals. Keep the 2024 standards intact.
