Support Alzheimer's Caregivers Act to Provide Crucial Resources
To: Rep. Waters
From: A constituent in Torrance, CA
November 22
Thank you for introducing the Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Act in honor of Alzheimer's Awareness Month. This legislation would establish vital training and support services for the millions of American families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease. With over 6 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer's, a number expected to nearly triple by 2060, caregivers desperately need greater resources and assistance to help shoulder the immense emotional, physical and financial toll. Providing educational materials, counseling, respite care and more through the Older Americans Act programs will help lighten the burden on caregiving families impacted by this devastating disease. Investing in comprehensive caregiver support is crucial for the wellbeing of both Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers.
