Reject Partisan Nominees, Uphold Democratic Principles

To: Rep. Sherman

From: A constituent in Studio City, CA

December 5, 2024

The nominations put forth by the former president for key cabinet positions are deeply concerning and threaten to undermine the integrity of our government institutions. Individuals like Kash Patel, whose blind loyalty to Trump overshadows any relevant qualifications for leading the FBI, pose a risk to the agency's independence and nonpartisan nature. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s well-documented anti-vaccine views and lack of scientific understanding make him alarmingly unqualified to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Similarly, Pete Hegseth's controversial background raises doubts about his ability to serve as an impartial Defense Secretary. These nominations prioritize personal allegiance over professional competence and ethics. Such blatant cronyism erodes public trust in government and sets a dangerous precedent of politicizing critical roles meant to operate outside of partisan interests. Confirming these nominees would be an embarrassment that degrades America's standing on the global stage. I urge you to reject these unfit candidates and uphold the principles of a functional democracy by ensuring that only qualified, honorable individuals are confirmed to lead our nation's most vital agencies and departments. Preserving the credibility of our institutions must take precedence over partisan loyalties.
