VOTE NO ON HR 1968

To: Rep. Foxx, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

From: A verified voter in Eden, NC

March 17

I am deeply concerned about the checks and balances in our government. Congress is supposed to represent us and control how our tax dollars are spent. This is not a power the President or an illegitimate department should have. I am calling on you to VOTE NO on HR 1968. You need to vote no for these reasons: 1. Executive Power: This bills gives the current Administration a gross and unconstitutional amount of authority to spend federal funds WITHOUT Congressional approval. This is unacceptable. 2. Tariffs: Maintains President Trumps authority to impose broad-based tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. These tariffs are unnecessary, will hurt our country, and is possible market manipulation at best. There are so many reasons why this is a bad bill. Mainly, if this passes we are relinquishing CONGRESS' historical role of having power over the purse and giving it to Trump & DOGE. This is unconstitutional. It takes power away from elected officials and consolidates it into one office, one man. We are not a nation of kings. VOTE NO on HR 1968.
