HISTORY WILL JUDGE THIS VOTE — REJECT TODD BLANCHE

To: Sen. Tillis

From: A constituent in Raleigh, NC

July 29

SUBJECT: HISTORY WILL JUDGE THIS VOTE — REJECT TODD BLANCHE Senator Tillis, When you leave the United States Senate, how do you want North Carolinians—and history—to remember you? Will you be remembered as a principled constitutionalist who stood up when it truly mattered? Or will you go out as just another politician who put on a tough show for the cameras, made empty demands, and then meekly caved at the end? You rightly pushed back on Todd Blanche’s nomination and demanded he meet with the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein. But let us be entirely honest: that meeting was an insulting mockery. The survivors themselves saw right through it—a cold, calculated, "check-the-box" routine from a man who acts like a bureaucrat following orders rather than a champion of justice. By accepting that superficial gesture as "satisfactory," you aren't just letting him off the hook—you are complicit in dismissing those victims. If his disregard for victims isn't enough, look at his active ethical liabilities: Under Bar Investigation: His involvement with controversial executive financial maneuvers and slush funds has been formally referred to the New York State Bar for review. How can you, in good conscience, vote to confirm the chief law enforcement officer of the nation while he is actively under state bar scrutiny for corruption? Loyalty to a Person, Not the Constitution: When Mr. Blanche suffered his Freudian slip at the hearing and blurted out "I'm his lawyer," he told you exactly who he is. He does not view himself as an independent defender of the rule of law; he views himself as a personal attorney. You have a choice tomorrow. You can step out of the shadows of party pressure, claim your moment as a true statesman, and reject a nominee who is blatantly unfit for office. Or you can sign off on this sycophant, hand the Department of Justice over to a compromised partisan, and let that capitulation be the final, defining stamp on your legislative record. Don't betray your constituents, the victims, or the rule of law. Do the right thing. Vote NO on Todd Blanche.
